Key Team Members

Beginning his career in 2006, Zach has engaged in a diverse spectrum of work ranging from building and temporary structure design to natural disaster damage assessment. He has expertise in scaffolding, formwork, and falsework design, bridge demolition and erection, designing and testing personal fall protection equipment, roof davit systems and manufacturers equipment. Zach adds additional expertise to the DH Glabe & Associates team with his extensive experience designing and analyzing residential, light commercial, and three story multiuse structures utilizing wood, steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry.

Zach’s interest in Civil Engineering began in the 8th grade when his parents dismantled a 100 year old log cabin and reconstructed it on their property outside of Kremmling, Colorado. Zach drafted the plans for the reconstruction and additions to the family cabin. He enjoyed it enough to mail order his first drafting kit and sign up for the three years of architectural drafting classes offered at his high school. Zach’s drafting interest led to a surveying draftsman and field crew position where he learned surveying principles, computer based drafting (Auto CAD) and later 3D modeling with REVIT. From there he headed to Colorado State University and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 2006. Zach completed his engineering internship designing residential and light commercial buildings in Loveland, CO and joined the DH Glabe & Associates team in 2011. Zach has a special interest in Forensic Engineering and building repair as he believes that studying old buildings and structural failures provides an engineer the opportunity to become a better designer by learning from both our mistakes and our achievements.

When not working or explaining to his family that he doesn’t drive a train, Zach enjoys fishing, hunting, horseback riding, camping and napping under a pine tree. However, he is still awaiting receipt of his hat.

Zach is a licensed Civil Engineer in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, Wyoming. He is also a licensed Structural Engineer in Vermont.

Since 2003, Donald McCuskey has been involved in the structural engineering profession. Donald McCuskey has particular expertise in structural analysis, design, and the review of construction for compliance with structural design for both permanent and temporary structures. Having worked on a variety of projects ranging from residential homes, temporary/permanent earth shoring/retaining, complex scaffold structures for dome restorations, shoring/falsework design for concrete placement and temporary support, bridge crane design, and mining structures. Donald provides DH Glabe & Associates with his extensive experience in solving complex construction/engineering problems using a combination of professional tools, knowledge of construction methods, and software. His expertise also includes work on notable scaffolding, shoring, forming, bridge erection and demolition projects around the country.

As a graduate of the University of Colorado, Donald received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Donald is a licensed Civil Engineer in Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Guam, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming.

Mike has been involved in the engineering and construction industry since 2005. Employed by a major concrete formwork contractor in the Denver area, Mike worked as a project engineer and project manager on a variety of cast-in-place concrete structures. He brings to DH Glabe & Associates a background in shoring & formwork engineering, construction management, and multiple years of hands-on practical field experience. As an engineer with DH Glabe & Associates, his field of expertise has broadened to include not only shoring and forming, but also includes notable projects ranging from scaffold design and fall protection design to bridge removal/erection to product testing.

A graduate of the University of Colorado, Mike holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both Mathematics and Civil Engineering. Mike holds LEED AP status, and is a licensed P.E. in Arkansas, Colorado, Washington D.C., Hawaii, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and Tennessee. He is a licensed P.Eng. in Alberta and British Columbia.

Beginning his professional career in 2006, John has worked on a number of large scale projects including structural inspections of power plants, metal refineries and mass material conveyors. After years of work with residential and commercial building design, he moved into heavy industrial design and renovation. John also worked in Research and Development working with more exotic materials such as aluminum, fiberglass and carbon fiber reinforced plastics (FRP). John is an expert in structural analysis as well as finite element analysis (FEA).

John is a licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois, Utah, Hawaii and a licensed Professional Engineer in Colorado.

Wes brings over 10 years of structural engineering experience to DH Glabe & Associates. His experience includes design work on a wide array of industrial structures. Wes began his engineering career with a large engineering and construction company working on commercial power plant projects. He then joined a firm that specialized in designing and building safe industrial access structures. He brings expertise in steel design as well as elevated work platform design.

Wes graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 2007. He obtained a Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering from the University of South Carolina in 2017, where he focused on advanced structural design and earthquake engineering. Wes is a licensed Civil Engineer in Maryland and South Carolina.

Mathew started his structural engineering career in 2014 designing prestressed concrete components for projects around the country. He later diversified his talents at an Engineer of Record firm, performing lateral and gravity analysis for steel, concrete, wood, and CMU structures. His experience includes complete structural design and analysis of parking, residential, commercial, medical, educational, and data center facilities.

Mathew graduated from the Milwaukee School of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering and a Master of Science in Structural Engineering. He passed both the lateral and gravity components of the Structural Engineering exams.

In Mathew’s time away from engineering, he enjoys staying active by playing soccer and going on walks with his Beagle, Sadie. He aspires to learn Polish to communicate with his wife’s family in Europe.

Derrek began his engineering career in 2012 at T.Y. Lin International, focusing primarily on heavy highway and infrastructure design. His experience includes design of highway/pedestrian bridges, temporary/permanent retaining wall design, rehabilitation of canal structures, and parking garage engineering. He performed work for several large clients including NYSDOT, IDOT, Niagara Falls State Park, NYS Thruway Authority, Canal Corporation, and the city of Buffalo.

Derrek continued his career in bridges and moved specifically into the railroad industry in 2016. As a project engineer and lead bridge inspector, he provided bridge inspection reports, repair recommendations and load ratings following AREMA standards. His clients included Watco Companies LLC, Lake State Railway, and Niles Canyon Railway.

Derrek graduated summa cum laude from the University at Buffalo in 2012 with a BS in Civil Engineering. He received his Master’s with a focus in bridge engineering from the University at Buffalo in 2017. During his time at UB, Derrek participated as a research assistant for studies into structural health monitoring systems and served as a teaching assistant in graduate school. When not at work, Derrek enjoys camping at national parks and spending time with his dog, Cole.

Nate has been involved in the engineering and construction industry since 2010. Nate began his career as a bridge & roadway project engineer designing and reviewing multiple aspects of heavy civil projects. He also has several years of experience in land and hydrographic surveying, managing hydraulic dredging and beach nourishment projects, and inspecting and testing materials that provided hands-on practical field experience. Nate has most recently been involved in the structural design of commercial, industrial, and residential infrastructure that includes: water & wastewater treatment plants, sheet piles, cofferdams, retaining walls, box culverts, and other various concrete & steel framed structures.

Nate graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a Structural Engineering Focus. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and two dogs hiking and camping.

Zachary graduated from Purdue University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. For the last four years he has been working in design for structural and scenic elements in the live entertainment and theme park industry, with installations world-wide.

While not at work, Zachary enjoys climbing, hiking, camping, and prop construction.

Kenzey brings a strong background in billing and administration to the DH Glabe & Associates team. Since 2008, she has been involved in numerous industries with roles ranging from collections and operations to customer service and general office. At DH Glabe & Associates, Kenzey is responsible for the day-to-day operation and financial management of the corporate office. She is also responsible for providing administrative leadership and executive assistance duties.

As the Founder of DH Glabe & Associates, David has been personally involved in the construction engineering industry since 1973. He has been a part of thousands of building & infrastructure projects providing services ranging from structural design to demolition. He has been associated with a number of scaffold, shoring, and forming companies, holding diverse positions ranging from applications engineer to regional vice president. Utilizing the experience he has gained from working in various aspects of the construction engineering world, David continues to share his knowledge with the industry through training, engineering and consultation. He co-developed a scaffold training seminar held at Purdue University and serves as an instructor for OSHA accredited training centers throughout the country. David also serves as an expert witness in workplace related matters. David is a graduate of Valparaiso University in Indiana, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He maintains membership in the National Society of Professional Engineers and Professional Engineers in Construction. He is actively involved in the Scaffolding and Access Industry Association where he serves as the liaison to OSHA. He is a Registered Civil Engineer in Colorado, Illinois, Nebraska, Kentucky,Virginia, New York, Connecticut, North Carolina, Michigan and West Virginia. He is also a licensed Structural Engineer in Utah.
