Alaska is geographically the largest state in the U.S. with the majority of its population centered in Anchorage. Geographically separated from the other U.S. states, Alaska is home to some of the country’s most spectacular views and thrill seeking adventures. The landscape of the Last Frontier State includes massive mountain ranges, expansive rivers, and elaborate coastlines. The Trans-Alaska Pipeline System is an engineering marvel that stretches nearly 800 miles from the Arctic Ocean to the Valdez Bay in southcentral Alaska and consists of 12 pump-stations and several hundred miles of feeder pipelines. First built in 1977 in response to the 1973 U.S. oil crisis, the pipeline crosses hundreds of miles of mountain ranges, rivers, and huge regions of freezing Alaskan tundra.
Anchorage, Alaska with Pro Scaffold Services: engineered shoring design for structural support during selective demolition of the first floor of a housing complex.
Juneau, Alaska with the National Park Service: design of systems scaffolding and custom structural steel base structure to provide access during dome renovation.
McCarthy, Alaska for the University of Alaska-Anchorage: design of a 90-foot tall freestanding scaffolding tower for the placement of an environmental monitoring station. Work included developing guy-wires and ground anchors to stabilize the freestanding scaffold tower.
