Scaffolding Engineering – The Allerton Mansion Restoration Project
Monticello, Illinois with Layher: engineering of an enclosed scaffold structure to facilitate the restoration of the historical structure. The scaffold lattices for the roof structure were designed to set on a trolley allowing them to move along the length of the building as construction progressed.
Formwork Engineering – Fullerton Theater on the Lake Project
Chicago, Illinois with Contractor Specialists: engineering of concrete wall formwork utilizing Symons handset panels. Work included the development of pour pressure charts for varying ambient temperatures.
Structural Shoring Engineering – I-57/I-70 over U.S. 45 Project
Effington County, Illinois with All American Scaffold and Civil Constructors: engineering of structural shoring towers to temporarily support the steel bridge girders prior to installation of the concrete bridge deck.
Concrete Shoring Engineering – 220 W. Illinois Development Project
Chicago, Illinois with Adjustable Forms: engineering and design of concrete shoring and reshoring for the multi-story concrete framed building.

Chicago attracts millions of people to the city annually to marvel at the cities engineering and architectural structures. The Sears Tower, recently renamed as The Willis Tower, is one of the nation’s engineering and architectural masterpieces. This 108-story building is the second tallest skyscraper in the U.S. and ranked the 14th internationally. The tower is well known for its very popular tourist attraction, the Skydeck. This glass observation deck, which opened in 1974, hangs from the side of the 103rd floor of the tower and looks over the city of Chicago.
