Davit & Anchor Certification

DH Glabe & Associates offers load testing and inspection of façade access equipment in order for building owners and managers to remain in compliance with OSHA, ANSI and IWCA regulations. Our services include load testing and visual inspection of fall protection anchors, davit bases, davit arms, tie-backs, outriggers, monorails and other permanently mounted façade access appurtenances. OSHA mandates that all permanently mounted façade access equipment must be load tested upon initial installation and visually inspected annually by a Competent Person. IWCA mandates that this equipment must also be re-tested at a minimum of every ten years.
The Professional Engineers at DH Glabe & Associates provide these required services to not only ensure that your building remains in compliance with the standards, but to guarantee the safest possible access to the building façade is available to window washers and other contractors. Our unique and innovative testing procedures provide less pedestrian and automobile traffic impact than that of traditional testing methods. Building owners & managers can also be assured that their property is not just being certified by a Competent Person as defined by OSHA, but by a Qualified Person and licensed Professional Engineer at DH Glabe & Associates.
Load Testing
DH Glabe & Associates utilizes our structural engineering expertise to develop innovative non-destructive testing procedures for the load testing of façade access equipment per the applicable OSHA & IWCA standards. Often, the testing procedures necessary to certify davits and fall protection anchors require impacting traffic adjacent to the building and closing off sidewalks below the building. Our advanced testing procedures include utilizing creative techniques to ensure the safety of pedestrians, while providing zero impact to traffic adjacent to the building. This ensures that all individuals involved in your project – from construction workers and engineers to pedestrians and clients – all remain safe during the duration of the load testing process.
Visual Inspection
The licensed Professional Engineers at DH Glabe & Associates provide annual davit and anchor inspection to ensure the structural integrity and OSHA compliance of your façade access equipment. OSHA mandates that these devices must be visually certified annually by a Competent Person. Upon successful completion of the inspection, a member of our team will provide a compliance letter affixed with a Professional Engineer’s certification stamp stating that the system is suitable for its intended use.
