DH Glabe & Associates provides construction and structural engineering services in the Beaver State of Oregon. Oregon has many different landscapes from the chilly ocean coastline, to the volcanic Cascade Range with its many lakes and ponds covered in evergreen, pine and juniper. There is also high desert in the Great Basin as well as many prairie lands and meadows. It is home to Crater Lake National Park. A magnificent engineering structure, the Steel Bridge, is located in the densely populated city of Portland, Oregon with over 2,500,000 inhabitants. The through truss, vertical-lift bridge has two stacked decks that cross the Willamette River. The top deck was first opened in 1888 to horse-drawn carriages and opened to automobiles in 1912. The bridge was designed by the engineering firm of Waddell & Harrington and measures 211 feet across with a width of 71 feet.
